Giessen Pointers
Year: 2026
Client: Giessen Pointers
Polymath was approached by Giessen Pointers, a basketball club based in Gießen, Germany, to completely rebrand the club's identity; spanning logo and wordmark creation, colour, typography, visual identity and imagery. The brief called for a look that felt modern and sophisticated while staying true to the city the club represents.

At the centre of the identity sits a winged heraldic lion, drawn from Gießen's own coat of arms, first recorded in 1605. Polymath reimagined this heritage mark for the Pointers, adapting its form to reflect the team's identity, and paired it with a bespoke colour palette and selected fonts to carry that heritage across every application.

The system extends across merchandise and apparel, court and signage, social and web, with the partner mark carried throughout. Supporting textures were developed from close-up crops of the court, nets and basketballs, layered with grain to bring depth and atmosphere across both dark and light applications.
